Madeira Thread

I was thinking about expanding my thread collection and purchase some spools of Madeira thread. I was looking for both metallic and nylon thread but with the assortment of threads they carry I am not sure which is the best. Also do they make thread in different diameters to match A and D size?

I to have been thinking of trying Madeira threads because they have a vast color selection. My main concern and I have not really seen this addressed very well is how it well it takes CP and how well it works for guide wrapping. I have been playing around with some Sulky thread and I am not pleased with how it comes out in some cases. The results have been very inconsistent, sometimes the CP seals it very well and other times even the CP causes bleed through of the blank color. I never had any problems like this with the Gudebrod threads. And If there are problems like that with the Madeira I may have to stick to just Gudebrod threads or find a better method of CPing things.

Anyone got any experience they would like to share with how well Madeira works under those circumstances? I don't won't to order my self more headaches:)

Scott,
Madiera and CP has been discussed in depth many times here. It is my understanding that Madiera is coated with silicon (?) for ease of use in sewing machines and CP has to be used on it. Only the Polyneon and ,etallics are suitable for rodbuildning
