hello,

I'm a beginner in rod building, so I need a lots of help. I'd like build a two hand rod, I bought a loop blank (14" line 9), and now I'm looking for e reel seat and a grip. I foun 2 reel seat but the price are very different, the first one is a pac bay reel seat (the HD A10), and the other one is a strubble (yhe U28 all metal). So I'd like to known what is the difference between us, and wich one should I buy.

Then I have to choose a grip. I found only a few number of spey grip (pac bay, REC). Do you know other grip builder with spey grip in their catalog?

Thank you very much

REC has all the products you need, this includes grips. If you look in the search section you will see they get high marks for the quality of their products. If you want to invest some time you could get a Fugi seat and marble it . There is an excellent article in RodMaker a couple of issues back.

Try FishSticks4u. I just ordered a Spey reel seat in aluminum and cork butt and fore grip for around $55 total from them. They are under Batson/Forcast products on their site. Paid more than that for a spey reel seat with wood insert from Mudhole and I didn't find any spey grips in their catalog. Struble U-26 seats are listed in Dan Craft's catalog in nickle silver but it will cost almost as much as the seat and grip from FishSticks4U. The Struble is one of only a few that I have seen in nickle silver but it is probably very nice. Hope this helps.
