Hi Bil I also use the twist tie method. I rough space the guides then mount an old reel and run the line through the guides mount it in a jig I made and pull the tip down with a seperate line alittle way. Then position the guides in that area so the line from the reel mimics the curve of the blank. Pull the blank down a little more and position those guides etc until I have a full bend in the blank. Release the blank from tension and align the guides with the line from the reel. I to have run into the guides walking a little when you go to wrap. I use an old fashioned clothespin the spring type can be clamped just behind the guide to prevent this. lThe clothes pins have two rounded out sections one a little smaller than the other works good all the way down the blank. Look at a clothes pin and you will see what I mean. Get started wrapping up the front side of the guide and simply remove the clothes pin. Works for me. Re: Holding guides prior to wrapping

I too have tried many of the preceeding ideas, all of which work to some degree. But I recently tried dental floss. Easy and cheep to obtain, and very easy to use. Just a couple of wraps on the foot to hold it, then slide the end of the dental floss under the other end of the foot to secure it. I may have to try the ultra thin floss on the really small fly type guides.
