I saw a sale available for some Madeira Rayon No.40. Is there a difference between that and the Polyneon? I did a search and found lots of info. on the Polyneon but not on the Rayon. Maybe that's my answer. Any help would be appreciated before I make a mistake. Thanks Scott Re: Madeira Polyneon and Rayon No. 40 is there a difference

Big Difference. From what I understand, the rayon is not suitable for rodbuilding. This is from previous posts, NOT personal knowledge!!!

The polyneon is a polyester thread and very much stronger than rayon. I tried rayon and didn't like it at all. Recommend you stay with polyester or nylon, but NOT rayon.

I've used rayon before and it might be just me, but you couldn't pay me to use it again. Even on buttwraps, it just isn't worth the trouble. Re: Madeira Polyneon and Rayon No. 40 is there a difference
