I have finished a couple of rods and when I started I thought that I would just build two that I needed and that would be it. NOT! I've got the bug bad. I used struble uplocks on both projects and they ain't cheap. I'm going to build a couple more and don't want to break the bank. Pickin out the reel seat is my favorite part of the build. I do flyrods and was checking out pac bay ns102s and ul5s. On the ul5s which are uplocks, look exactly the same as the downlocks in the cats. I would choose the down lock. Are they a flush mount to the grip or do they inlett into the grip? I don't care for the seats were you have to cut out the cork to accept the hood. I much prefer the inletted grip look. I have also seen the bul5 seats. Has anyone tried these? Thanks for any input. Re: Reel seat questions

On a downlocking seat there would be nothing to inlet into the cork. So the barrel just sits up next to the end of the cork grip. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
