I've been reading through old posts about tinting permagloss to paint blanks.
Any opinions on which types of paint work best or are best compatable with the permagloss to use as the tint? There are acrylics, laquers, enamels, ect.... Also, is there a limit to how much paint to add as tint, or is it a matter of preference? I was thinking (2) parts permagloss to (1) part paint. Thanks for the help. Re: Tinting PermaGloss

Pigments are better than paints. The solvents in paint CAN mess the whole thing up; especially if one third of the mixture is paint!!
Like in marbling with epoxies, pigments provide "concentrated" color; it'll need less product in the mix. I just eyeball it, adding just a bit at a time, until the color seems opaque enough to cover the blank color. Putter Williston, ND Re: Tinting PermaGloss

Like Putter says, pigments! Start with DROPS, not percentages. you don't want to change the properties of the Permagloss.

Where can I purchase the pigments? I've never dealt with them before and wouldn't begin to know where to look.
Sorry for my ignorance, but thanks for the help! Re: Tinting PermaGloss

Just DO NOt use acrylics. I have had nothing but a terrible experience with them. Some may argue my point but that is based on my own experience. Take it for what it is worth.
