What a pleasure

Just got back from 9 days pike fishing in Canada with my brother. Great trip.

One of the highlights of this very successful and enjoyable trip was watching with pleasure as my brother hooked and landed a 45 inch 22+ lb pike on the new 7.5 ft medium light action walleye rod I had built for him for the trip. We were fishing in 4 feet of water, using 6lb test line with 1/8 oz lead head jigs and simply trying to get the last two walleyes for dinner when his line headed for deep water.

It is not often enough that we rod builders get to see someone land the fish of a lifetime such as this on a piece of our handiwork. This should happen more often.

Hey Mike, Richard seemed to have a better trip than you did, you will have to go back to the cheque book holder again and plead with her.

About 225+ miles north of International Fall MN.

My 6th year on the lake. We C&R'd 15 pike between 36 to 45 inches.

I'm trying to figure out if I can write it off as field research for my rod building. Maybe next year.
