Fugi vs American Tackle?

I am getting ready to build a couple 6wt 9' fly rods after being out of the hobby for a while. In the past I have used the Fuji Ti guides and have been extremely happy. They are extremely light and very well made. However, I have noticed that the new American Tackle Titanium guides are quite a bit less expensive. Has anyone had any experience with the AT Ti guides? How do they compare to the Fuji's? Are they any heavier?
Thanks, Marc Re: Fugi vs American Tackle?

I got in a set of the American Tackle Ti Titan framed guides last week. My observations are that they are nice but not on par with the Fuji Ti frames. You can flex the Fuji guides and they spring back. The Titans stay bent. Sure you can bend the Fuji's far enough to get them to stay bent, but the American Titan frames will bend and stay bent with just the slightest flex. I think they will have to go back to the drawing board on these guides. But I guess they won't rust and maybe that is their main selling point.
The advice below about paying extra for better quality might apply here. Not knocking the American Tackle guides, but they are not the same quality or strength as the Fuji Ti models. Re: Fugi vs American Tackle?

I use both, but use the Fuji titanium top instead of American Tackles, which is made of steel. Amtacks keep the line better off the blank. And their inside diameter is slightly larger than Fuji. Their weight compared roughly to Fujis steel frame lsg guides. The stripper guides are about the same weight for both titanium guides. Weight ? Fuji TLSG7: 2.4 grain, Fuji TSG7: 2,9grain and amtacks flytitanium guide size 7: 3.5 grain Re: Fugi vs American Tackle?

Terje--thanks for the objective data on weight. Why do you say the AmTac's keep the line off the blank better? Re: Fugi vs American Tackle?

I was quick. What I ment is t Amtacks And Fuji (t)lsg have a high frame and (theoretically) I think that might help to keep the line off the blank during r the backcast. Having said that, I prefer Fuji (t) lsg over (t) sg. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
