Does anyone out there have a few of the old spinning guides that stand off the rod and have two twists like a spring wound in them? I need some for a repair and don't have a single one in my spare guides stash.
Send me an email if you do. Thanks, Joe Joe Douglas Re: Old spinning guides

Joe,
I am pretty sure that I do. Send me an e-mail with the sizes that you need and I will see if I can not help. Re: Old spinning guides

If Emory does not have them I have a few of the original Aetna Foulproof Monel Wire guides that may work.

The old perfection wire guides can be had at Neals , I purchased a couple of bags of a 100 guides in all sizes for pennies a guide . Great deal , Neal has helped me with some very "old" replacement components , I just took a digital pic of the old stuff and asked if he had anything similar .

American Tackle still sells a copy of the old Aetna Foulproof guides. Check their catalog or website. The link is to the left.

What is the best way to straighten a Bamboo rod? I read recently about using a hot iron, but the article failed to detail the method (direct or indirect heat application) best used. I have recently started refurbishing Bamboo fly rods and find this hobby to be very enjoyable, but I could always use some help. Thanks Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
