Color Help

It seems that I never seem to select the right color combinations for the fly rods I build, I like them but others seem to have a different opinion. So I thought I would ask the experts.

I am about to start on a 7 wt - 5 pc matte black blank. Guides will have light TiCh frames with blue zirconium rings, reel seat has light gunsmoke hardware and a rosewood insert.

My choice of colors would be garnet thread, no cp, with blue metallic trim bands that match the zirconium rings.

All suggestion will be considered and appreciated.

Bob

I agree with Putter. The garnet "hurts" with the blue.

I'm a graduate of theRhode Island School of Design . I studied colour theory extensivly so- you can trust me when I say....Listen to Putter AND Rich- They know what they are talking about!!!
If you still want the garnet in the wrap , I would recommend no more than a single thread band thrown in.

Thanks to all!! I did 2 test wraps, one with my original choice of garnet and blue and one using blue and silver as suggested by Putter and others. The blue and silver won hands down when viewed by the person the rod is being built for. Good thing I took the advice of people who are more color savy than me.

Putter... the Cool Granpa Bob handle came from my grand kids can't get them to stop calling me that.
