We got back from Alaska last Sunday morning and after fishing those long hours, I crashed until Tuesday afternoon only waking for food and coffee!
Fishing was fabulous and we even found some of my techniques worked very well up there! We had many people asking what we were using and what our secret was!
We caught some trout as well as Pink and chinook salmon on the fly but actually found the Silvers that were in the rivers we fished to be very closed mouth to our flies. I was told it may be because they had been in the river for a few days. That is when I tried some of the jig and bobber methods we used for steelhead and salmon here.
WOW! My son and I averaged about 35 silvers by 10:00am each day!
We would have stayed there longer each day but we were getting dropped off by our buddy in his sled there and had to run on his scedule.
We didn't get to see any bears but we did see some moose.
We found some other promising waters and plan to check them out next year.

Now the bad news! When I got home I had to deal with our well! We have a submersible pump and there was a break in the line about 80' down causing the pump to fail. We realized there was no safety rope on the pump and as my wife and I were pulling the 160' plus pipe from the well, the pipe broke in my hand! I was lucky to have caught it before it sunk to the bottom of to well! When I told Cary Batson, he said Bob must have been looking down on me. Thanks Bob!.
Anyway, the well is fixed now and working.
I am sorry for any delays that have been caused and all orders are being processed as fast as my stove up body can move.
