Need Shimano reel specs

Anybody have a Shimano Sahara 4000 and a Symetre 2500 to compare side by side?I have the Sahara 4000 and the Syemetre 2500 looks like it may have the same dimensions...e.g. spool face size and unsweep. They look really close. I'm building a spinning rod and I can't get my hands on a Symetre right now. Any info would really be a big help.

Thanks,
Steve

Ok...how 'bout if someone could give me the spool face size and the distance from spool shaft to reel foot on the Symetre?

Thanks,
Steve

Diameter of symetre 2500fi (2005 model ) is 4 inches. Tape measure wrapped around the spool (it could be circumfrence I can't remember all the geometry lessons) measures 4 inches. I have a Sahara 2000 and it is just a bit smaller than the symetre. I also have one of the Spirex 4000 and it is considerably bigger than the symetre. My guess is the Sahara 4000 will also be considerably bigger.

The tip of the shaft (without spool) to the forward part of the reel foot for the spirex 2500 is 3 1/4 inches.

Hope that helps.

I just measured my Sahara 4000 and it is 5 5/8 inches in circumference which 1.79 inches in diameter or 45.466 mm. So I guess the Sahara 4000 is quite a bit large than the Symetre 2500.

Thanks for the measurements Dan. I think that will really help me out. I think that is enought info to go on. One other thing, does it look like your Spirex and the Symetre have the same upsweep or angle? I'm thinking they do.

Thanks,
Steve
