What type of glue would you use to glue pieces of eva once you cut them to make a colorful grip? I saw at the rod building show this year that someone had a picture of bart simpson inlayed in a eva grip. How do you accomplish this? Re: EVA Grips

Contact cement, although when placing such inlays into the grip, you don't want the cement to grab and lock as it is normally designed to do upon contact. So you have to "re-wet" the surface with more cement and instead of letting it dry, you can then go ahead and place it in position and still move it a tad if you need to.
I have seen people do this with epoxy, but in my opinion the stiff and unforgiving glue lines don't do much for the overall attractiveness and feel of the grip. ............ Re: EVA Grips

Bart Simpson was on a Skateboard, with a Cape dammit!! lol. Weldwood contact cement. Do a search on that, and you'll see a bunch of topics. There is one specific post, I think I posted in February which has a ton of info on how to do these grips.
Here's Bart & a few others: [www.rodbuilding.org] Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/19/2005 06:58PM by Billy Vivona. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
