I probably threw everyone off when I asked about wood hosels, on the Penn International rods they have a tapered wood piece just forward of the foregrip which they wrap thread around so that it tapers from the foregrip to the blank, due to the thickness of the foregrip this piece give the rod a very distinctive look, they look like a hosel but you don't see any of the wood trim, should I just cut off the trim or does anyone know where to get these pieces. You can look in any catalog that carries International Rods and see this taper. Re: Tapered Wood on Penn International 130 Class

Many of the leather covered foregrips are installed over a wood base which is tapered like a cone or bullet at the front. These should be available from some of the sponsors like Mud Hole, Summer Moon, Fish Sticks 4U or Merrick. Maybe others as well.

When Penn closed it's rod factory [Rodco] they sold off the inventory that was left and Wayne Foulkes bought a lot of components. Included were all the wood hozels you are talking about.I don't know if he wants to sell any of them or not but you can call and ask him. 1-757-481-4107.
