Hello,
I'm looking for a mandrel for an older Toast Master lathe that's in the 16"-17" range for turning longer cork handles. I'd like to pick one up from Lamar, but can't get in touch with Andy to place an order. Thanks in advance for the help, Steve Re: Mandrels other than Lamar?

You could have a Machinist make one for you. They are easy to do, but you need to know EXACTLY what you want. I got a set made for me for free, and one set which I traded some fishing stuff for. If you don't know a Machinist, they'll probably end up charging a lot more than Andy will, so you're better off waiting for him if that's teh case, i'm sure he'll be around at some point. Allthread will get you by untill Andy gets back. Ralph If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again. Re: Mandrels other than Lamar?

I just got 3 from Andy. They are very nice. He is on vacation and apparantly covered up when he is in. If you have a 3 jaw and a jacobs chuck why not just order some ground rod and a center drill and make one yourself. Re: Mandrels other than Lamar?

I just got 3 from Andy. They are very nice. He is on vacation and apparantly pretty covered up when he is in. He has a lot of blanks cheap right noe. You could make one if you have a 3 jaw and a jacobs chuck for the lathe. Use ground tool steel in the right diameter. Re: Mandrels other than Lamar?

Hey David,
Thank you for the kind offer. Very decent and generous of you. I'd need a 17"X3/8". What would I owe you for your troubles and time? Please email me at fxdl@alltel.net when you get a chance. Steve Re: Mandrels other than Lamar?
