Clemens in Allentown went out of business about two years ago. Is there any other rod building supply stores in the genreal area of Harrisburg that are open to the public for retail sales? Harrisburg area could be uyp to two hours away.

AA Outfitters in the Poconos has some supplies, mainly for building fly rods. They're located in Blakesly off of Rt 940.

Versitex is in Spring City, near Valley Forge in Suburban Philly, but they don't take walk-ins; they mainly wrap rods for charters, outfitters, fly shops, etc. I went to Cabelas in Hamburg last winter & one of their sales reps said they were questioning the stocking of blanks on the retail floor. The rod blank display was a train wreck. Imagine a display of several hundred blanks in random placement...forget finding a specific size/length, etc...customers just wouldn't put the blanks back in the right spot. Sales reps just couldn't keep up with returning all the blanks in their proper place. Mail order is really your best bet in this area. I miss Clemens, they were a great place to walk into. It was like an old fly or tackle shop where you could go to chat & bounce ideas around. Gone but not forgotten...
