Ferrules for Bamboo Rod

I have a firend who is repairing a bamboo fly rod and is looking for replacement ferrules. Any suggestion where he may find them? I have already suggested he go to Golden Witch. I am not a bamboo rod builder so I have no experience here.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know what Neal's may have along those lines, but I'd check him as well. It all depends on the particular rod and what type ferrules are needed. Golden Witch is certainly a good place to start.

golden witch is a good sourse. they are probably nickle silver if it was a decent rod. some rods used step down ferruls and i am told it is important to stay with them if that is how it was originally designed. if the maile ferrul looks like it "steps down" where it slides then it is a step down ferrul. the rod taper would have been designed to take that type of ferrul. the ferrul station would have been cut 1/64 or 2/64 smaller
than the rest of the male ferrul station. if you try top put swiss ferruls on that step down will be too small and there will be movement. not a good thing. the overall length of the ferrul is also important. if the rod is designed with standard ferruls you will want to use that. if it was designed with truncated ferruls(shorter) you will want ot use those.
