Guide Suggestions and comments

I just purchased two of the Five Rivers Signature III 8wt blanks Dan Craft had listed on @#$%&. One is for me and the other for my father-in-law. My father in law works in the statewide offices of the University of Alaska and I would like to do his rod in UAF (University of Alaska Fairbanks) colors. The colors are a darker blue, golden yellow, and white. Black is also used on team uniforms and other logos as well. I'm going to try to get permission from university relations to have decals made with the UAF logo, but I need help with the Baston Forecast guides.
I'll start with a black reel aluminum reel seat with full wells grip and fighting butt. The two stripper guides will be black frame UD series with the blue ring, size 16 and 12. Now this is where I need help. I want to step down to the FL series guides, then down to singles foot wire guides just before the tip, but I need size suggestions for the ring and single foot guides.
Thanks
Ben Stacy

Why not stay with the FL's all the way out? I just built a 8wt and am going to build another match soon and I used the spinning style double foot guides(VD) for the two strippers 16,12 and then stayed with those in single foot 7's(VS?) all the way out to the tip. If you are passing any knots 8's may be more your ticket. Plus the line stays off the blank, it is the first time I built with the higher frames and I think I am hooked.

Thanks Jason. What style of tip top did you use? Framed or wire loop?

I actually used Model P, I believe. It was the only one I could find handy in the same color scheme that fit the tip and gave me the ring size I wanted.
