gotta be a difference!

What is the difference between the Fuji Titanium with SIC guides compared to the Amercian Titan Titanium with the Nanolite Frame? According to the Mud hole the Titan is lighter and much cheaper. As far as the stainless steel tip top you could use the Fuji instead? Mud Hole says there is little difference in color.

Bill,

From what I got from the American Tackle REP, the difference would be that the ring material isn't SIC.
While I was told it is very hard and was formulated to allow for the very thin grinding, it isn't SIC and that alone will bring the cost down.

70 views, no posts, hmmm.

There is definately a diffrence between the 2 Titanium's used in AMTAK's & Fuji. Fuji's Titanium sprung back to shape better than the Titan's did after you bent the guide frame. They are also different colors, with Fuji being a greyer color, adn the Titan's being a Chrome'r color. The ring material used is also different, with the SIC being more expensive than the Nanolite in the Titan's.

I do not know which are lighter, I do know the Titan's are somewhere in teh ball park of 1/2 the price of the Fuji's.

There is an earlier thread on this subject.
Very interesting! Do a search!

Actually, Fuji Titanium SIC in the same configurations are lighter than the TItans. The smaller size you go, the more pronounced the difference in terms of % of the total weight. The larger ones, I believer, are close in weight but the Fujis are still lighter.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but this is based on my actually weighing the Titans and a couple of other posts.

Hope this helps.
