After reaming your grips, if you are still a little concerned with grit inside the handle, I suggest you try a bottle brush. Trim the bristles a little to get them stiffer. It only takes a couple of passes, twisting and pulling/pushing, to get pretty much all the stuff out.

Ah mate, a couple of months free time can really liberate the mind. I'm working on betting together the mini routing table for a Dremel multi tool so I don't have to spend so much time carving lures.

The Frankenstein special fishes great. I still want to turn down the middle ferrule to make it slimmer, but in the mean time, I'm happy. Fuji Alconites and a split grip. 9 guides in total, 6 feet 1inch in length. It can throw up to 10 g easily, but is also happy down to 1/32 oz jigheads and small soft plastics. And I've nailed a couple of small barramundi on it. It's biggest test so far was a 33 cm estuary cod from a rock wall.

Still working on my wrapper for now. Wrapping by hand still (literally!!!)

I hear those Barramundi are a wild ride on light tackle. Grren with envy on this side of the pond....Hmmm.....I match the Frankie rod then I guess.
