painted reel seats?

I read the thread below on fuji painted seats. Are these fuji products or is somebody else painting them? I know they look good when new, but does anyone really know for sure how they look after they\'ve been on a rod and fished for a few months?? Will they hold up?

MAtagi in JApan is the company who is painting them I think. At least they are the people who have been selling them for a couple of ears now. I guess enough posts were made by a couple of us on teh boards to get the attention of a couple of US SUppliers, so they are now IMporting them directly from Matagi, I assume.

They paintjob seems like it will hold up, no problem. I've only used mine 3 times in teh SW, sticking the rod in a rod holder - so far no problems, nor do I expect any. The paintjob is VERY nice.

The ones I paint I put coats of permagloss on. Should last a long time. That stuff is as hard as nails.
