#4 - 4 pcs fly rod

Hello

I am to build a 4 pcs #4 fly rod for myself.
A year ago a build a 4 pcs 9' #6 on a St.Croix SC-IV 4F906.4 blank and I just love that rod.
My starting point would therefore be St.Croix SC-IV once again.
Now my problem is that St.Croix has 3 blanks
8' = 4F804.4
8'6" = 4F864.4
9' = 4F904.4
They are all described as fast, but my experience with other rods is that there can be a H... of a difference between rods of the sane series and # but in different lengths.
I trust in StCroix making good blanks, but I have experienced (with other makes), that one specific rod in a series is just THE rod while others never should have seen the light of day.

I have had mailcorrespondance with StCroix, but they can't help!
Does anyone here have any experience with theese blanks - which one to prefer?

- or another sugestion for a blank?
Price not more over $175,-

At least give Dan Craft some consideration. He has Sig III, FT and Sig V blanks. The Sig V 843 is 3 piece, but an awesome blank and super light. The Sig 3 and FT blanks are faster action with a bit more weight from what I understand. I love my Sig V, and want to try the FT line soon. Maybe at the show....

Hello. The three blanks you listed are all excellent. My personal favorite is the 8'6" 4 piece 4 wt. I think it is one best casting 4 wts. on the market.

Thanks for the replies
By intuition I would have chosen the 8'6
