I have had to replace the ferrule on a 40+ year old bamboo rod. I put a thin layer of epoxy around the bamboo, seated the original ferrule, and wrapped the tongues to hold them in place while the adhesive cured. When I now wrap the ferrule with a single layer of size 00 Gudebrod silk rod wrapping thread, the shape of the tongues is quite visible under the wrapping. What is the solution to eliminate the "show through" - more layers, heavier weight thread, ...? Thanks. Re: Newbie Q: wrapping ferrules
