Another Charlotte question

I'm trying to figure out my budget for the Charlotte show. I checked with the Westin, and they offer a shuttle service to the hotel from the airport for about $60/person. OUCH! I don't really know how far the airport is from the hotel, or what cabs will cost. Can anybody give me a ballpark for cab fare from the airport to the Westin? I can just rent a car for about $60, so I might just be better off with that. Any other suggestions?

I think there is a free shuttle from the airport to the downtown area, but I'd have to check on it for you. Give me a couple days and I'll get that information for you.

There is regular/continuos shuttle service that makes the rounds to all the hotels-to & from the airport. I can't remember exactly what I paid last year but it was definately under $20 (I think $10-$15 round-trip). It runs every 10-15 minutes from the airport and you just call them from the hotel and let them know when to pick you up for the return

I thought there was something like that. I'll still get the information and put it up on the official show website later this week. Thanks for bringing the topic up.

That's exactly what I was looking for. I really didn't want the hassle of renting a car if I could avoid it. Thank you!

Last year, paying for both ways when I shuttled from the airport to the Westin, they reduced the normal $10 each way to $18 for both ways.

Rental car hassle not necessary for Charlotte! Hotel and show too conveinient to airport. $ 15 shuttle or $ 20 single taxi. The only real problem you will have is how in the devil are you going to get all the stuff you buy to the airport and on the plane! One of the 20 foot surf blanks will crimp your style for carry on packages! Tell Andy Dear how much cash your are bringing and he may just come pick your up with VIP service.
