E mail me for additional pics
This set up is independent of central unit and beat the Civic Clubs rules of no window units. I put a window unit inside, the garage is not insulated on exterior walls nor is the door but I can still lower the outdoor ambient 15 to 20 degrees.

Total cost was about $350

Good job! I do not have the same problem with a Civic Club. If we set fire to the old tires laying in the yard the cops may stop by and see if we want to file charges on the arsonist!

Not to rain on your enginuity, but don't them make units that are stand alone with a flexible exhaust tube now? I believe they are around the same cost. However, you may have that one beat with the ability to cool better. I am not sure what the stand alone's cooling power is rated at?

You should visit your local HVAC/ R suplier, several companies have came out with a sytem for small offices or large rooms that look nothing like window units. In fact the penetration through the wall is incredibly small and the condensor that goes outside is compact and sharp. Some models are even heat pump/ air conditioners. If I build another bldg. this will be what I use. I'll try to get the name and model for you guys monday.

I looked and tried all those options but Civic club rules disallowed it ,no wall penetrations or AC equipment visable from street

Does your ducts penetrate the garage door? Has to to work! Outside intake and exhaust air should be well saparated, otherwise you get re-circulation and reduced efficiency of your system.

Agreed, on the factory unit the make up air and exhaust air are within 2' max of each other ,on the modified unit they are no closer than 4'
