direction of decal

building a rod for a friend that wants his name on rod...which way should i install
decal...going up the rod to tip or going down towards butt...thanks bryan...

Personall, I put all decals pointing towards the tip so that when holding/looking at the rod, it reads left to right

I also put decals on from butt to tip just because I think it looks better that way. You see all kinds of different styles and they all work so do whatever you like best.

It also depends what side of the rod you are looking at. On the left side of the rod I put my decals on tip to butt, on the right side, butt to tip. I do this because on fly rods people often lay down the rod with a fish next to it, and if it was not done this way the decal would not show up correctly in the photo. My .02
