So a while back I got advice from you on how to mount a drying motor on a renzetti. With that and the RM issue that had instructions, I mounted a drying motor to the stand. Now I have the drying motor on one side and the turning motor on the other side. A side benifit I didnt realize I had until tonight was I appear to have dual drying capability now....the turning motor has an extended shaft (I think intended for sanding stone), so with 2 belts one from the drying motor (which is the one under power) to the chuck and another from the chuck to the turning motor I can setup and have 2 rods drying at the same time (not knowing much about motors, I hope this isnt gonna damage the turning motor any?)...which is great for small repairs on multiple rods so i dont have to waste finish. To turn, all I have to do is remove the belt from the drying motor and flip the switch on the turning motor. Thanks all, and thanks Tom. Re: Drying on a power wrapper

I assume you mean that you're attaching a chuck for drying to the opposite end of the turning motor and then using the dryer motor to run through the headstock pulley and onto the turning motor, turning the shaft through the turning motor to your second rod. In that case, I don't think you'll harm that motor at all. Excellent idea.

Yes, Tom, thanks...you explained it much better. And thanks for putting me at ease as it relates to not harming the motor. Its a cool setup, and I wouldnt have got there without the fine advice here. Now if i can just keep my fingers off the stuff until its dry. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
