Hi,
A friend is looking to re-outfit his boat, and doesn't care for the lack of feedback when handling fish on his fiberglass downrigger rods (fishing mostly for trout, salmon and walleye on Lake Ontario and Lake Erie). It appears to me most downrigger rods are glass. Is this because they are in a flexed position for such long periods of time? Where do I go to get more information on the design of these rods, or what types of rods are being favored? What blanks do you like for these applicaitons? Thanks all, J.C. RodMaker Volume 8 issue #1, has a complete article on the origin of, design, building and use of downrigger and trolling rods for the Great Lakes. It would answer most any question you have regarding these type rods. ..................... Re: downrigger rods for Great Lakes

And if you can't wait for that issue, or don't have it, check the downrigger line from Rainshadow/Forecast, greta blanks and good pricing. Re: downrigger rods for Great Lakes

...and spiral wrap those puppies! Nice and stable; the rod stays upright all of the time. Putter Williston, ND Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
