The e-mail notification for me is a super pain in teh behind. Maybe some of you don't read or post on many threads, but if I post of 5 or 6 threads, and do e-mail confirmations on each, I'll be overloaded with e-mails telling me someone has posted....BUT there isn't any message so I have to click on teh site, wait for it to open up, scroll down to see someone says...."Me too". Shut the Internet down, 5 minutes later another one, then another, and another. It's more annoying than beneficial. Not only on this site, but on other sites which notify you you have recieved a PM, but the message isn't in teh E-mail. Stripersonline has the best PM notification system.

As for other Rod Building boards flaming - I check 4 or 5 others, and that rarely goes on. SOL, Noreast, & Allcoast specifically.

When you get the email just click on the secound line that states -if you do not want to follow this thread-or just go to your controll center and make sure you follow none of the threads

Like this one I will not be following any more so I click on it

You have the controll Billy

I prefer the current method. If all it took was a reply to get a post back on top, a new post wouldn't have a chance, it would immediately be buried before any one saw it

I prefer the current method. If all it took was a reply to get a post back on top, a new post wouldn't have a chance, it would immediately be buried before any one saw it. There is just to much traffic here for that type of set up. If you are interested in a particular thread, just click on the "follow this thread" under it!

There is also a terrific search function on this site that can be used to find any topic/subject that has ever been posted

Mike - I don't think that is the case on any other boards where threads get lost. There isn't that much traffic here at all compared to other sites (non-rodbuilding) which have the feature to pop newl replied to posts up. Doesn't matter, the decision has been made & explanation given on several occasions. Works just fine.
