Color Change Weaving

I've been concentrating on the pic of Jim Uptons "Baby Dragon" weave...trying to get a clue on color change weaving. I can see the set up for design threads and the blend of colors. Very intricate.

My question is ...when setting up the design threads, do you utilize the same "slot" in a loom, with multiple threads in order to keep track of when a certain thread needs to be applied to a certain "pixel" of the design...ie: in the "Baby Dragon", I can see the layout red threads "eye" on the left...to the right, there appears to be some red threads....not alot.

Are multiple threads being utilized in the same "slot"?...for color change weaving.

(This isn't a Jim Upton only...question. Just using his wicked weave picture as an example)

Yes, different colored threads are being "stacked" in the same slot.

It will make even more sense when you get the issue of Rodmaker that Jim mentions. Good stuff. Maybe Jim will do a DVD on the subject one of these days. Hint. Hint.

Mike - I may have "stole" your RM Mag with the article Jim wrote. I may have taken it back with me on Greyhound July 2004. If you cannot find it, let me know & I'll search through my stuff to see if it's buried.
