varnish vs epoxy

I want to find out which is better rod varnish or epoxy.

What are you using it for?? Rod varnish generally used to refinish a blank, while finish epoxy is used to finish/protect wraps/inscriptions. Also what type of rod are you talking about?

IM using it on bass rods. Im just starting so i wanted to see the difference in both.

They are 2 different products/formulas. Are you talking about rod finish or wrap finish?? There is no reason to finish the entire blank unless you just want to or are doing a color change.

if you are talking about guide wraps both finishes work well. epoxy is in my opinion easier to get a deep glossy finish with. it takes a lot of coats of varnish to get any depth. both will do a fine job as far as sealing and keeping the thread intact.

Also, Luis, varnish takes longer to cure, some types as jong as 72 hrs. Varnish is still a good option. Talk to the people at Golden Witch, on the left. Ralph
