Can you make a telescoping rod from a 1 piece blank?

I was wondering if I could take an 8' ft. blank and cut it and make it a telescoping rod so it would fit into my rod locker? Is this just a matter of cutting the blank 2' ft. or so from the butt and inserting the tip end back through the butt end? Thanks for any and all help and suggestions. Bass wishes. That is not going to work. You would have to find another blank that is big enough to slip over the blank you have and fit up properly. Though I think that would not be the easiest of things to accomplish. You would be better off getting a blank that is already set up as a telescopic handle. 8 ft telescoping flipping sticks are available and Talon has a line of blanks they call "extendible" blanks if I remember right in various lengths and actions. They are at talongraphite.com. Re: Can you make a telescoping rod from a 1 piece blank?

Thanks Magnus, just went to the site and it looks like they have really cut back on their selection of blanks. Hopefully the others are available, but not listed. They had a list that I think started with 6 ft telscopics and went up. Seems like the list of telescoping blanks are going down with the bigger rod boxes on the new big boats.
