Earlier I mentioned that this year the National Rod Builders Show will feature 8' tables for sale to rod builders. Previoiusly, if you wanted to display you had to buy a regular 10x10 booth. This year, the 8' tables will be lined up down one side of an additional aisle that has been added.
The cost is $300. You may not have anything under the table or behind the table. The table is your display space (if you need more room, 10x10 booths are still available). The display should be interactive - you and your rod wrapper or lathe and the act of some facet of rod building. The idea is to get people to stop and watch and ask questions about what you're doing; to present rod building in progress throughout the weekend. Yes, you can have finished rods on the table along with your business cards and brochures. You can sell and take orders from your table. But we ask that you have an interactive display where people can actually see the steps involved in rod building. What we'd like to see, is one builder doing decorative thread work, another working on handles, another doing guide wraps, another prepping guides, etc. We're wanting to expose the general fishing public to the "guts" of rod building and these inexpensive tables should be a good way to do that, all the while allowing some custom builders to display and market themselves to hundreds and hundreds of fishermen for very little money. Our marketing and advertising efforts to the general fishing public will be expanded again this year. This afternoon, my printer will be picking up the files for our new "National Rod Builders Show" brochures. 20,000 color brochures will be printed and direct mailed to a wide variety of fishing mailing lists we've procured for this year's efforts. 8 tables are available. 2 are already gone. Don't wait if you're interested. Shoot me an email and I'll discuss the specifics with you. ........... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/12/2005 09:33AM by Tom Kirkman.
