I am looking for a nice skeleton reel seat combo for a 3/4 wieght fly rod. I made the insert already figuring I would use a gold colored fuji number 16 and I layed it all out on the table and it looked cheesy, so I want to get something a litte more elegant. The handle, the insert and the butt cap are all made from a nice peice of boxed elder that is shot through with red in the grain.
I am thinking something like a nickel/silver set would look nice, anyone got any suggestions where I can find something like that would fit what I already have. I Browsed the advertisers on the left here but didn't see anything that I thought would work. Any ideas welcome. Re: Skeleton Fly rod reel seat hardware

Does the same Fuji seat in silver also look cheesy? Re: Skeleton Fly rod reel seat hardware

Scott:
Try the Struble nickle silver skeleton seats, like the U-24. There are other nickle silver reel seats that Struble makes, but this one is less utilitarian and much more beautiful. I have used this reel seat in about 6 rods now, and the customers have been quite delighted. There are other makers of nickle silver reel seats, but this looks good to the eye. Gerry, I think what makes it look cheesy is the graphite portion of the reel seat. It may even look better in plain black, but I want something that will really fit well with the rest of the handle and rod assembly.
I will have to see if I can hunt down that struble and see if I can find a picture of it. Thanks for the input, and if anyone else has any ideas I am open to hearing them. Scott Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
