Gudebrod neon colors (jig thread?)

Was at a local tackle/rod parts store and they had some Gudebrod neon blue and neon pink colors that I've never seen before. I asked and she said she thinks they were jig wrapping threads and had never tried them for rod building.

Would probably stand out pretty well on a rod tip... anyone know if there are any problems using these on rods? Looked at Gudebrods page but didn't see them.

I have seen similal theads at local shops, some are made of Kevlar. I have been wondering about their other used as well but decided that the colors for me were just not a "must have" when Madeira Polyneon sewing thread can be had in similar colors and priced much less.

I have heard that the neon colors (jig wrapping thread) will fade rather quickly. I have several spools of the neons (pink, orange, chartreuse) but I only use it for high contrast when practicing or designing fancy wraps.

I have just obtained some Gudebrod NEON tthread. I have tried it on an experimental three piece rod, and it looks pretty cool. The rod is 3 piece: handle, fore section ,& tip section. The neat thing about this rod is the fact that itis made from old parts; the handle and fore section are from the 40's & made of lance wood / greenheart, made by Congress, the tip is solid glass (the clear stuff) made by Betts. It is a 6' spin rod w / 6 guides & tip-top all chrome ceramic. The neon thread really "lights up" in the sun light. I am putting together a Penn 704 Z reel to go with it , I am concidering painting the reel "candy blue" and filling it with blue spectra line, to go bluefishing of course.
