And also to the people on this board who offered advice on my question about the lightest fly blank. I just got home and received my 1 weight blank in the mail, it seems awesome.

I saw a question awhile back about finishes, think I would prefer some sort of clear coat on the blank, but this is something different from the norm and I like it.

Also, thank you to Dan for taking the time to seal everything in plastic. The mailman left my box outside in the rain as we are getting bands from Hurricane Dennis coming through and the box was soaked, but everything inside was fine.

2 quick questions. Plan on wrapping the guides with Size A thread and two or three coats of Permaglos, whatever it takes. Is this fine or should I order some silk 00 or whatever it is?

I should wrap the guides get wrapped inside the curve of the spine, correct?

Thanks,
Phil

I think you'll be tickled pink with that rod when you fish it. I almost envy you. Goodbrod makes a 00 nylon as well. It might be the way want to go? About the spine, do you want the inside curve, the stronger side, pushing the cast or fighting the fish? This is your 'Dream Rod' for now, think about about it. You might wrap the rod one way, test cast it, then the other. Then this excellent blank will become more truely the best you can build. Ralph

If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again.

Phil , you won't be dissapointed with that blank , I wraped my guides on the inside of the spine markings that Dan provided . Have a ball , an 8 in. trout is a pure thrill on a ONE ............
