Joe Emig's seat insert casting.

Hey again guys. I've been admiring Joe's work since he started posting pics. The resin cast seat inserts are super hot stuff. I'm wondering if the castings have to be perfectly round, or can it be adapted to assymetrical inserts? I've successfully made my ergonomic inserts for skeleton hardware with wood and cork, but I'd like to try something really sweet with the same shape.

Nice Joe
Got one question - what do you do to make any of the material look even when it is connected together on the bottom. Do you over lap and then trim even? Or do you measure the cercumference then cut the material so it fits even. I know it is where the reel goes but still like it to look good there also

Bill, I measure the circumference and cut the material to the correct size. I also make sure to try and match up any pattern at the seam.

Thanks for that Joe. I was just wondering if you cast something like the brass woven braid, then turned the casting assymetrically, would it look funny due to there being uneven thickness of resin over the braid?
