Assemble rod, rotate tip section 180 degrees, add bumper guide where apropriate (sp?), and wrap/epoxy it in place. Make a small mark on both sections of rod for proper alignment when re-assembled.
Can it be that easy or am I missing something? It has been said countless times that spine of the rod is not all important. Can't be since so few production rods are actually wrapped on the spine. Derek Re: Bumper Spiral from a 2-Piece Production Rod

What do you think the spine is going to do? Yes it is that easy. The only problem you could run into would be if the rod has poor guide spacing to begin with. Not all production rods have enough guides or properly spaced guides. But overall if you'll do what the article says and what you just pointed out, you're going to find that it works and works very well. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
