This hint goes to all new rod builders. When wrappin a guide watch how much thread tension you use. you can crush a rod or cause it to break by putting to much tension on the wrap. After I have wrapped a guide and I doing the final alinement to the tip top and I find it is hard to move the guide I figure it is to tight. I like to be able to move the guide with just a little pressure. When it come to wrapping a ferrule I always put the butt section in to the top section. this elimenates bad fits. At times when I can't use the butt section I use peaces of blanks that I have saved just for that purpose. Please contact me at warren321@yahoo.com for any comments or suggestions. I thrive on constructive critisium. Without it I could not grow as a professional custom rod builder. Bob Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
