Shikari model SB (Spin Bass) rods are good candidates. Nice light sensitive tips, very meaty mid and butt sections. Fast actions. And models rated to 1 ounce.

Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

I have built several rods that would fall under that catagory from St. Croix. Their medium fast action 6 1/2 foot blanks should fit the bill very well. They have a fast tip and lots of back bone.
