Doug Cox - can you help

Doug, I would like to know where you sourced the pulley for your rod lathe head. Your work on that "home made" wrapper is so well crafted that I would like to benchmark the parts. I have everything except that pulley. Can you help?
Regards,
Kenneth Prager

He made it. Yes, that's right - he made it from a block of aluminum.

For those interested, the complete machine will be featured in the next issue of RodMaker, along with Doug's comments on where he got the pieces and how he fabricated them.

Thanks for the compliment. I made the pulleys from a piece of inch thick aluminum plate. Another good source for large pulleys that work very well is old exercise equipment. Most of the pulleys are well made but the hole may not be centered...any machine shop can true the center hole for you.
