ok first i want to say thank you to everyone who has helped me with my questions and problems that i have had. tried your suggestions and my wraps and finish have turned out looking great.
transition from one color to the next turned out real smooth and straight and the finish turned out with no bubbles and covered threads like it should. THANKSFOR YOUR HELP. BUT i am using double foot guides and the finish is lower inbetween the guide feet. can i fill this in with another coat just in the low spot or do i need to start from the edge very thin and build up in the low area?dont want to just try somthing and make it worse than it already is . to where i have to strip it back down and start over. would like to be able to use it this weekend . THANKS FOR YALLS HELP WITH THIS!!!!! david williams Re: finish question

I always put a false wrap inbetween the guide feet in this situation for this reason, David. That way the threads are even across the board.
To get it level without false wrapping, I would have coated this area first, then done the whole wrap second. Don't know how it would look to try and just fill that area now without coming over the whole works one more time afterwards; the edges would probably look funny?? If it's not a lot lower you could just leave it alone. Another coat may help, but you didn't say how many you have on now. On the next rod, you might try not putting any finish on the space between the guide feet (unless you've underwrapped them), just cover the thread wraps.
