have been using flex coat lite but when i reordered i wound up getting the flexcoat high build
can i thin it down and if so with what and how much?
(i figured out my trouble i was having thanks to several of yall here. and was putting my finish on to thick and now i have wound up buying a thicker finish)
i ended up using it for my second coat and think it will be ok. looks like it anyway. but i dont think
i will be able to spread it thin enough for a first coat. until i mabey get more experenced with this.
so my question is can i thin it or do i need to just buy more flexcoat lite?

You can apply finish as thick or thinly as you like. In fact, I think you'll find the regular build to be easier to use than the Lite formula - you can put it on a bit heavier if you like and it'll stay put better than the Lite stuff will. The Lite stuff will sag and run on you before the higher build stuff will - it won't support as much of itself.

You might want to do a test run on a few sample wraps to see if you like, though. No use in fouling up a good rod with a product you aren't used to working with.

The finish I use thicker than FC high build and my first coat is always so thin you can feel the thread ridges when it dries. Thick finishes can always be put on thin or thick but thin finishes can only be put on thin.
