Gold Hardware for Fly Rod

I plan on starting a fly rod soon and would like to use gold hardware (e.g. reel seat). I checked many of the suppliers at left and could not find anyone who had gold colored seats. Plenty of nickel silver and a lot of black but no gold. Is there some sort of curse/taboo about gold seats known only to fly rod builders or did I just do a lousy search job and miss something.

I believe Batson has the U3 seat in gold.

We brought in a bunch of AW's winding checks and found the gold wasn't "gold" enough--more of a champagne color, though very nice as everything they sell is. However, that prompted us to have a bunch of GOLD winding checks made for us in Germany--we've just received them, and they're fantastic...we just haven't had time to add them to the store yet! If you're interested, send me an email and I can attach a jpg for you.

BTW--we carry Batson's gold U3's and had these made to match. We also carry H&H snake and standoff sf guides in gold and gold HK's so you can seriously pimp up your rod! ;)

All the best,

Pac Bay has a TiGold reelseat, guides, etc.The TiGold plating seems to hold up better than some gold finishes.

Ralph
REC components use to offer their RGML and RGMS reel seat hardware in gold anodized. I remember buying one for a customer a few years ago. Pretty nice finish. These reel seats are for 7 to 11 wt rods, I would say. For a lighter fly rod you'd have to check their other anodized seats.
Good luck.
