Looking to make a pair of light trolling rods similar to a noodle rod that I used last year by Swann. The rod would be used to troll for walleye to lake trout. The flexiable action of the noodle style rod was fun for catching Lake Trout that were decent size, but not much of a fight. Like to find a blank that is flexiable, but not the most expensive as not much casting will be involved. Like length 7-10 feet in 2-3 piece model for ease of travel. Lastly, probably use Fireline for the fishing line. Any guides to avoid with Fireline? Any suggestions appreciated. Re: Light trolling rod 2-3 piece blank

I would think that a steelhead or salmon blank would be ideal for what you want to do. A few issues back in Rodmaker they had a great article on building great lakes trolling rods. You definitely need to get your hands on that issue and study up. Could be a big help to you.
As far as I know Fireline won'lt harm any of the good quality ceramic guides. At least it hasn't any of my Fuji Alconites or Amtaks. Re: Light trolling rod 2-3 piece blank
