Yes my name is kenneth and iam looking for some companys that sells parts cheaper than janns and looking for makers of cork. I have been building rods for a couple years now and this is like a hobbie and small biz for me. It is just hard trying to find parts cheaper than some of the catalogs i get such as janns and mudhole and ect.

If you have a business license, Mudhole, Merrick, others to the left, etc. are about it. I still use Jann's for things, also. Their service is second to none and price ain't everything; at least not to me...

Ken,
Give Neal's a look. The Tiger Eye components there are a good value. If you are looking for something different the Forecast components I've bought have all been great values also.

You're not going to find rod building supplies much more inexpensive anywhere. Most companies are just getting by these days with prices that offer the lowest margins in history. What you may have to do is increase your selling price - rod building parts are at rock bottom right now and you're likely to save much more than you are now.

Unless you're willing to place very large opening orders ($10,000 from Fuji, I think) you can't buy direct from the manufacturer. Companies like Jann's are set up to service these small to medium rod building accounts. Manufacturers don't have the infastructure to sell direct to each rod builder nor is such a thing healthy for the industry.

The best you can do is set up a wholesale account and buy in as large a quantity as you can, to get the best prices and terms.
