Flea flicker blanks

Hello its been awhile since I visisted and even longer since I have built a rod. A winch accident took away my ability to count to ten on my fingers and made building a pain. I picked up a couple 5' 9" ul flea flicker blanks when clemens went out. I had two I promotly had a bass about 6 pounds break one right after I finished it,drag froze up on a cheap reel. Then this spring the other one had a mishap. I'll spare you the details. I managed to fix it though as the break was in the butt section. I am now on a misson,a futile I think, to find more of these blanks. I will be willing to pay almost anything if there is anyone willing to part with one or hopefully more. Any help or leads would be apperciated. Thanks

Mike,
I think Dave Gilberg told me he found one a month or so ago. Maybe he knows where another might be.

Put your request on the buy/sell page where it will stay in front of people a bit longer than a post here will.

Michael, I commiserate with your plight. It's a shame for these rare blanks to be lost. I bought a Flea Flicker almost two years ago from a fellow rod builder. He indicated it was the only one he was willing to sell. Mine will remain in my collection. I have been saving it for the time my skills are sufficient to do it justice. Fortunately I am approaching that level. Your experience reinforces my resolve to only use quality reels. I would be very pleased to find Apogee blanks of any length. Like you I hold them in great esteem.

Having never seen one, how do they differ from today's UL blanks?

Got curious and chased down the description in Clemen's book. Very interesting.

If these are so good, wondering why someone doesn't reproduce them. Are they that difficult or is the market very small for these?

I looked them up in the book as well. Interesting to say the least. Wouldn't mind bending one for the heck of it.
