Is there such a thing as American Strain Graphite? If there is , what is the difference between "American Strain Graphite" and imported?. I was asked this today and felt like I had been under a rock, because I don't know..
Thanks in advance... Tight Wraps DG Rod Works Re: What Is It?

Some carbon fibers are made in the USA, but most are now made overseas. I suspect whoever tossed that term at you thought they really knew something you didn't, but they don't. I'd be willing to bet that they also prefer fly rods with a "progressive multi-modulus damped action."

Sounds like something Bass Pro Shops would dream up to go with their 80 million modulus blanks. Re: What Is It?

David,
Strain is simply the amount that a material, including graphite fibers, will deform in square inches when a force is applied to it and the basic physics is the same in any country. American Strain Graphite sounds like a @#$%& term to me. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/15/2005 04:08PM by Emory Harry. Re: What Is It?

I go with Emory. It is like saying. I want American metric, not European metric. Somebody found a Buzz word and is trying to snow you

I thank you all for the replies,
He tried to hit me with that term a second time, but I was ready and told him to get it straight that the proper term would be, American Made High-Modulus/High-Strain Graphite. Tight Wraps DG Rod Works Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
