If I only knew!!!!!!!

Hidy Troops,

If I only knew how to use my new camera and if I only knew how to post a photo, I would post a photo of a butt wrap to show the newbe rod builders an example of what not to do.

I guess I got what I deserve for semi copying Kirkmam's signature butt wrap. It was done in NCP white, Sulky brassy gold, and regular purple nylon. A little background about the rod. It is one of Andy's unfinished 843's built as a spinner for my son to use next week in chasing specks and dots down at Rockport.

Boo Boo number one was that I didn't get the NCP white packed and burnished.good enough, caused mostly because of all the inlays involved in the wrap.

Boo Boo number two was my not using color preserver.

Both of the above allowed the unfinished blank to show through the white part of the wrap. It ain't real bad and on close examination look's kinda like a light marbel job. I think I will make that my story and stick to it.

My kid ain't gonna care as he will be away for the San Diego fast lane and enjoying the laid back Rockport life.

By the way the purple with gold guide wraps look jam up.

Later,
Gerald Mc

PS: I'm gonna be gon fishing down to Rockport tomorrow and then again next week with my kid and agin July 7 with my regular geezer group. Not to bad for an old Dude that has to carry around an oxyjen on shoulder, HUH.

Howdy Gerald,
What kind of camera did you get? I too will be at Rockport next week. I am just waiting for Andy Dear to e-mail me and let me know when we are to meet there. I have a couple of flyrods that I have not tried in the salt and am anxious to do so. If the wind permits, I want to do some string tossing and water slapping. My daughter gave me a Sony Cyber-shot 4.1 mega pixels camera. This thing is so simple that even an old sheepherder like me can operate it. I hope to see you at RP so that I can make fun of your rod.

Texicans need to file an application for permission to use purple and gold!!! The applicable process licence fee is due and payable prior to wrapping. Please forward your Visa Card and PIN number and I will be sure your permission is granted forthwith.

Youall have fun now! Took all of 30 minutes this morning to put our 25 reds on ice. Four ladies on board. Only two broken rods this morning - good day! Spent three hours hunting for the spotted ladies to no avail!

Gon Fishn
