Does this materal turn like wood products on a wood lathe? What is the procedure to finish the ,material? 400/600 wet dry paper? Any help here would be great, I think it is good looking and would like to try some.

I've found it fairly easy to work with. Harder than wood, but not nearly as brittle as some of the plastic pen turning materials. Sand down through 320 and then wet sand with 400 and then 600. That gives you a nice, hard smooth stone appearance. If you want to bring up a high gloss (this removes the stone look and makes it look a bit more "plastic" however) use some Dico blue compound on a loose buffing wheel. It will gleam.

Some yes. I have used real marble, but it's extremely hard to work. You have to chip/sand/shape it. I haven't figured out a good way to actually cut/turn it. The Tru-Stone looks similar (if you don't polish it too highly) and if far easier to work with.
